Getting Started with Ticket Mate
Welcome! Follow this guide to go from zero to a fully automated Jira-AI workflow in less than 10 minutes.
Overview
Ticket Mate is designed to be the "intelligent layer" on top of your existing Jira instance. We don't replace Jira; we make it faster, smarter, and more accessible for engineering teams.
Step 1: Connect Your Workspace
- Create an account at app.ticketmate.com.
- During the onboarding flow, select Connect Jira.
- Authorize the Ticket Mate Atlassian App.
- Select the Jira projects you want to sync.
Step 2: Configure Your First Integration
Most teams start by connecting GitHub to link code activity to tickets.
- Navigate to Admin → Integrations → GitHub.
- Connect your GitHub organization.
- Select the repositories that match your Jira projects.
- Optional: Set up the Cursor Integration to bring Jira context into your editor.
Step 3: Enable AI Assistance
Turn on the "Smart Enhancement" feature to improve ticket quality.
- Go to Admin → AI Settings → Assistants.
- Enable the Description Generator.
- Create a test ticket in your dashboard and click the ✨ Enhance button.
Step 4: Build Your First Automation Rule
Let Ticket Mate handle the status changes for you.
- Navigate to Features → Automation.
- Click Add Rule and select the "Move to In Progress on Branch Creation" template.
- Save the rule.
- Create a new branch in GitHub (e.g.,
feature/TM-123-new-auth).
- Watch the Jira ticket move automatically!
Step 5: Invite Your Team
- Go to Admin → Team Management.
- Invite your developers and product managers.
- Assign Roles based on their needs.
